Lela App Design

In the foster care system, female African Americans are at an increased risk for unintended pregnancies and STIs due to the lack of education they receive on sexuality and information related to it.What we set up to accomplish is to provide an application that provides sexuality education training and a curriculum which is engaging, fun, specifically targeting female African American teens aged 13 to 19 in the foster care system. All the visuals for this app, such as design and color scheme, were meant to feel warm, welcoming, and aesthetically pleasing. This is to not only make the app look nice and to feel like a safe space, but to make the user experience feel less like they are doing homework but more like they are getting informed on empowering, important information.
